A gentle time that brings a smile to your face.

Simple and charming animal figurines and patterns. The rounded shapes are somehow gentle, and when you hold them, there's a warmth that soothes your heart. The soft, hazy patterns blend with the warmth of the clay, creating a gentle atmosphere, as if you're gazing at a serene landscape.

Each piece is carefully shaped one by one using techniques such as tatara-zukuri (slab building), molds, and hand-coiling. The soft contours, bearing the marks of handcraftsmanship, and the tactile feel of the clay's warmth. The gently drawn patterns and three-dimensional objects are also unique, each possessing a quiet individuality.

As each piece is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, thickness, size, weight, glaze unevenness, glaze pooling, slight wobbling, and patterns. Also, due to variations in glaze application, crazing, pinholes, and iron spots (black dots) may be present, but these do not affect usability. Please enjoy these unique characteristics as part of handmade craftsmanship. We cannot guarantee which specific piece you will receive, but we hope you will look forward to its arrival. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact us before shipping, and we can email you additional photos.

Recommended Care and Precautions from Maruban Ceramics Factory

As the pieces have been sealed, there is no need to boil them in rice water, but due to the nature of the glaze, crazing may occur if boiling water is poured in. Stains that are difficult to remove with neutral detergent may come off with a melamine sponge.
〇Dishwashers can be used, but handwashing is recommended as the water pressure and abrasives may reduce the protective effect on the surface.
〇When using a microwave, please make sure not to microwave empty and to use it with food.
〇Only pieces with "Maruban Tainetsu" (Maruban Heat Resistant) indicated on the back can be used over direct flame or in an oven.
〇Over time, crazing or spots may appear, but we hope you will enjoy the pottery for a long time, embracing these changes as part of its character!

 Understanding "Utuwa" (Pottery)

〇As each piece is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, pattern, size, thickness, and weight. Also, even with the same glaze and clay, there may be variations in color and shade.
〇Since each painting is hand-drawn, the expressions may vary.
〇Depending on the product and manufacturing process, small holes, black spots, scratches, protrusions, pinholes, wobbles, and distortions may be observed.
〇While we strive to process product images to be as close to the actual color as possible, the color and texture may appear different depending on the display screen of your computer or smartphone.
〇At our store, we deliver items that have passed not only the inspection of the manufacturer, kiln, and artist but also our final inspection.
〇Product photos are samples, so the actual item you receive may not be identical in every detail.
〇We do not accept returns or exchanges due to customer convenience. Please understand and acknowledge this before making a purchase.
〇We hope you enjoy the "flavor" and "charm" unique to handmade items, which mass-produced factory goods lack!
