Quietly speaking to your heart
A nostalgic familiarity, as if you've met it somewhere before, yet with a subtly mysterious presence. From the moment your eyes meet, ponpoco possesses a charm that quietly draws you in. Its round shape, soft demeanor, and a touch of humor. When you touch it, a warmth gently spreads, as if it's responding to your feelings.
It started as a tiny mushroom. From there, ponpoco gradually transformed, growing into a presence that settles into a corner of someone's life. Like a rounded pebble, it possesses the gentleness that only things that have accumulated time can have, and a hint of nostalgia. That memory-like sensation is subtly encapsulated within it.
Tiny parts, no bigger than a grain of rice, are made with fingertips. Each one is carefully layered, and this process is reflected in their expressions and gestures, imbuing them with individual "personalities." The texture that fits smoothly in the hand, the deep expressions created by multiple layers of glaze. All of these shape it into not just a vessel or an object, but a "vessel for touching and connecting with the heart."
Simply placing it on a shelf softens the space, and at an unexpected moment, your eyes meet, and your heart unwinds. Even in busy days, you might find yourself wanting to stroke it or whisper to it. Life with ponpoco nearby is filled with quiet gentleness and a little playfulness. Before you know it, your everyday life will feel a little more precious.
As each item is handmade, there will be individual differences in color, shape, thickness, size, weight, glaze unevenness, glaze drips, glaze pools, slight wobbles, patterns, and expressions. Also, some items may have differences in glaze application, crazing, pinholes, or iron spots (black dots), but these do not affect usability. Please enjoy these as unique characteristics of handmade items. We cannot choose which item you will receive, but we hope you will look forward to its arrival.
