Making white rice even more delicious
Rice is the source of our strength. You likely eat rice from a rice bowl at least once a day. When you eat hot, delicious white rice from your favorite bowl, your appetite and energy are doubled.

Designed to be lightweight and easy to hold
Weighing approximately 230g, it doesn't feel heavy at all. It is the perfect size to fit comfortably in one hand. The carved "shinogi" pattern on the outside fits securely in your hand, making it very easy to hold.

Warm, white Kohiki glaze
The rustic, warm white Kohiki glaze, combined with the vertical iron lines and a faint reddish hue (gohon), gives it an indescribable texture. Each carving is done with great care. It has a rustic warmth that makes hot rice taste even better.

Because each piece is handmade, there are individual differences in color, shape, size, thickness, weight, and glaze unevenness. Additionally, the glaze application can lead to variations in fired color, as well as pinholes and iron specks (black dots), each giving the piece a unique look. Please rest assured that this does not affect its use. Enjoy these unique characteristics that only handmade items possess. While we cannot choose which specific item you will receive, we hope you look forward to its arrival. If you have concerns, please contact us before shipping and we will email you photos of the specific piece.

| Recommended Care Instructions from Furutani Pottery |
|
〇 Before first use, wash lightly with detergent and use as is. 〇 When serving oily or dark-colored dishes, rinse the piece with water first to dampen it; this will help prevent stains. 〇 Because the pottery is absorbent, it may turn gray or show spots when soaked in water, but it will return to its original state once completely dried. 〇 After use, dry thoroughly before storing to prevent mold and stains. |
| Understanding our ceramics before purchase |
|
〇 Because each piece is handmade, there are individual differences in color, shape, pattern, size, thickness, and weight. Even with the same glaze and clay, uneven coloring and variations in intensity may occur. 〇 Hand-painted designs may also differ slightly in expression from piece to piece. 〇 Depending on the manufacturing process, products may show small holes, tiny black dots, fine scratches, protrusions, pinholes, wobbling, or distortions. 〇 We have processed images to match the actual colors as closely as possible, but the color and texture may appear different depending on your computer or smartphone display. 〇 We deliver products that have passed not only the inspections of the manufacturers and potters but also our own final store inspection. 〇 Product photos are samples; the item you receive will not be identical in every detail. 〇 We do not accept returns or exchanges for customer convenience. Please understand and accept this before purchasing. 〇 We hope you enjoy the charm and character that only handmade goods, unlike mass-produced items, can provide! |
